About the Tri-County Public Health Consortium
Our Mission:
"To develop and implement a jurisdiction-wide program to provide rapid and effective response to bioterrorism, other infectious disease outbreaks, and other public health threats and emergencies."
The mission of the Tri-County Public Health Consortium is being accomplished through our efforts to develop public health emergency preparedness plans for Kenosha, Racine, and Walworth counties that link together and provide for mutual assistance. We began with gaining an understanding of the possible dangers that threaten our way of life and the resources necessary to protect us. We proceed with that knowledge and work together with our partners in our communities along with those in local, state and federal government to develop and test our plans.
In addition to preparedness planning, the following resources were provided by the Tri-County Public Health Consortium with grant funds to support the local health departments.
- Increased capacity vaccine refrigerator/freezers.
- Laboratory biological safety hood.
- Local health department emergency response kits.
- High speed, high volume FAX machines.
- Continuing education programs.
- Advanced Risk Communication equipment.
The Tri-County Public Health Consortium will continue to review and refine emergency plans and resources available to ensure they are adequate to address new biological threats and/or new generations of communicable diseases to provide better protection for the members of our communities.
