"Every health department fully prepared;
every community better protected."
Your local health department is active every day monitoring disease outbreaks, testing water supplies, immunizing against disease, and educating the general public, among a multitude of other responsibilities. In the event of a natural or man-made disaster, public health becomes a primary means of serving the healthcare needs of your community.
The Tri-County Public Health Consortium is responsible for developing comprehensive public health emergency preparedness plans for the Wisconsin counties of Kenosha, Racine and Walworth that incorporate the participation and resources of a multi-disciplinary team of professionals and lay members of the communities. Our relationships with healthcare, fire, emergency medical services, and law enforcement, among others, enable us to develop public health response plans that interact effectively and share resources to protect and serve our citizens. This website provides citizens, public health professionals, business planners and government administrators with helpful information about preparing for and responding to emergency situations such as bioterrorism, infectious disease outbreaks, public health threats and public health emergencies.
Funding for the Tri-County Public Health Consortium is provided by grants distributed by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention.
